Sandra Mollon

Sandra Mollon is an award winning quilter living in Northern California. She has been quilting for over 30 years, and teaching for 15 years.

Sandra started out as a traditional quilter, doing mostly hand appliqué for a couple of decades. You can see a few of her quilts in the book, “500 Traditional Quilts” by Lark Publications.

Many of Sandra’s quilts have been juried into large international and regional juried shows. The ribbons that she has recently received include an Honorable Mention at the AQS Brand Rapids 2018 show, a 3rd Place Wall at the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, a 2nd Place Wall at the 2018 Pacific International Quilt Show, 3rd Place at the 2018 TAG Art Gallery, and the Best of Show and 1st Place at the River City Quilt Show.

Lily Pad

Students select a photograph to work from, or they may choose to work from the waterlily pattern shown at right. Those working from a photo will be using an enlargement made to the size of the finished quilt to develop a pattern. You will learn to select appropriate fabrics which are fused into place. The quilt is enhanced with fabric ink and other media. The quilt is finished later with machine quilting.
